About

Jared Berghold is a software engineer and creative coder who has spent more than 15 years creating compelling interactive experiences.

Beginning his career at Canon Information Systems Research Australia (CiSRA), Jared designed and built apps for an iPad-like tablet device called RAMA.

At Avolution Jared worked as a software developer on the enterprise modelling tool, ABACUS, creating an interactive 3D visualiser that allows users to perform a fly-through of a representation of their architecture.

Jared then spent four years working at iCinema, Centre for Interactive Cinema Research, as part of a software engineering team led by interactive artist and pioneer in the field, Jeffrey Shaw.

In 2017, Jared co-created the interactive artwork Always Coming, Always Going for Vivid Sydney alongside friend and collaborator Luc Small.

Beginning in 2020, Jared has created a number of interactive experiences designed to run directly in a web browser, including an interactive company logo.

In 2023, Jared began teaching creative coding to children as young as eight using a tool he made called Make. For more information, see Creative Coding Studio.

Jared creates playful experiences that evoke a sense of curiosity in the audience. He draws on years of experience to achieve this and is forever refining his craft due to an endless passion for the practice.
